What is stafylomelo

Stafylomelo is a sweet grape product with a high concentration of sugars. Ours is made from Moschofilero grapes, the most aromatic variety of the Fileri family, and keeps their character: a sweet taste that recalls sun dried grapes.

It is related to petimezi, the traditional Greek grape syrup that is made by boiling grape must for hours.

Made from Moschofilero grapes

Moschofilero is a Greek grape with pink skin, known for its intense aromas. In our family vineyards in Skotini, Argolida, we grow it at 820 metres for our dry white wine White Shadow. Stafylomelo is made from the same variety.

If you like its taste, try our Moschofilero wine from the same grape.

How to use it

In drinks. For fresh grape juice, mix 5 parts juice with one part stafylomelo. It also adds flavour to tea, milk and other drinks.

In dressings and salads. Mix one part stafylomelo with one part vinegar for a sweet and sour dressing, like balsamic, for salads and grilled dishes.

In baking. Thanks to its high sugar concentration it gives good structure to desserts.

As a sweetener. It is a sweetener that adds flavour to food.
